About Michael “ThreadGuy” Jerome
ThreadGuy embodies the non-traditional path to success the new generations are aspiring to. At 16 he started reselling sneakers, learning the fundamentals of markets: supply, demand, timing, bots, and the psychology of what makes something valuable. From there, he progressed slowly into more mature markets: Sports cards, Collectibles, Crypto, Private Companies, Equities, and now Commodities. He has traded, at some level, nearly every asset class on Earth.
Threadguy grew up during an era of one hot market after another, learning to navigate zirp-fueled bubbles as they formed, taking his lumps, and coming out the other side with a hard-won intuition.
Running parallel to his life as a trader has been his life as a commentator. His first semester of college, he started a Twitter account, ThreadGuy, and began sharing his thoughts publicly. A podcast followed. And eventually, Counterparty Media.
What makes ThreadGuy singular is the combination: he’s a participant who has lived markets, lost in them, and kept going. His approach is inquisitive by nature; he leads with sharp questions. On air, that translates to conversations that feel genuinely curious: intergenerational exchanges with veteran experts, sharp young operators, and everyone in between.
